1. INSURANCE IS ENCOURAGED

All participants are encouraged to carry valid travel and/or international medical insurance for the duration of the retreat. While not required, coverage is strongly recommended given the remote location and the nature of activities involved.

2. RECOMMENDED COVERAGE

• Medical expenses: $250,000 per person
• Emergency medical evacuation: $100,000 per person
• Trip cancellation/interruption: full retreat cost + airfare

Your policy should also cover:

• Travel to and within Mexico
• Adventure and physical activities (including dance, yoga, and water activities)
• Ground transportation and private vehicle excursions
• Water activities (cenote and pool access)

3. COVERAGE DATES

• Policy should cover: December 27, 2026 - January 7, 2027 (full retreat window; your week at minimum)
• Proof deadline: 7 days before your retreat start date (if purchased)

4. WHY THIS MATTERS

The retreat is located in a remote jungle setting approximately 20 minutes from Tulum. No medical staff are on-site. The nearest comprehensive medical care may be 60 or more minutes away. Emergency evacuation from this location can be expensive and complicated without proper coverage. Medical care and evacuation in Mexico without insurance can cost tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket.

5. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE INSURANCE

If you purchase travel or medical insurance and wish to share proof with us, please send it to hello@shufflehouse.co at least 7 days before your retreat start date. We strongly recommend coverage given the remote location - no medical staff are on-site and emergency evacuation can be costly without it.

7. COST GUIDANCE

For a trip value of approximately $2,500 - $3,500 (retreat + airfare), comprehensive travel insurance typically costs $150 - $300 USD. Purchasing within 14 days of your initial $555 deposit often qualifies you for the lowest rates and may unlock pre-existing condition waivers.
